12/5/2011-
God rest ye merry Cagney fans may nothing you dismay
No gigging in December while Jill's arm's in disarray
But recording starts this Saturday, new songs are on the way
Oh tidings of comfort and joy!
Ha!
Seriously though, I have been recovering from tendonitis in my arm...and have been forced to slow down. What a good time of year for that! I hope all of you get some time this month to slow down a little and just be.
I begin preproduction on a new EP this Saturday and resume gigs on January 2oth at The National Underground in NYC at 8pm.
Wishing you all peace

11/1/2011- Slumping
Slumping is when you have been feeling like not doing anything, unmotivated, and you let yourself go with it. I was in a slump for a while last month. At first it felt pretty good not to do anything, then it made me anxious and eventually it just got boring. In a way it was a good thing because it lit a fire under me...nothing comes from nothing. I thought I invented the word slumping, but it already exists...according to the dictionary slumping is a technique used to heat glass to a softening point so it will take the form of a mold and take on a new shape. Weird.
I am getting excited and ready to record, practicing and working on the songs, so I have scaled back the gigs for now...just one this month - Friday 11/18 at The Crossroads in Garwood NJ 7pm.
Happy November (I love November), Happy Thanksgiving...and if you find yourself slumping this month-it's ok for a little bit.
Never give up!

10/2/2011- Being Productive
I like to feel productive. No one would call me a lazy person, but I have a great fear of being lazy-like it can happen at any time and there will be no going back. Because of this I spend a lot of time fretting that I am not being productive enough instead of actually spending time and focusing on writing, touring, and coming up with ideas. Thus, my goal this month is to spend my time planning and creating, not fretting.
For all of you that have been asking when I will be putting out the new songs, I will be heading into the studio in December to record a 5-6 song EP...very excited about this!
Later on this month I will be doing a radio campaign with my artist developer/friend Gene Foley....super excited about that!
Gigs are varied and all over this month-from The Jersey Gardens Mall in Elizabeth NJ, to the The Autism Awareness Walk in Cranford NJ, to a house concert in Indianapolis IN. I am psyched about all of them!
And just to prove to you that my songs are true stories, while I was putting this together, I took small breaks to play "Words With Friends", make some coffee and check Facebook- (see video on this page).

9/1/11- Perseverance
What a summer this was. Started out touring, ended up touring and in between I wrote, booked, started my own publishing company, met new people and got a lot closer to some of the people I have met along the way.
I have been given many great opportunities this summer but none was better than one in my own home town of Cranford NJ. With the help of this fantastic community and my touring partner Jared Mccloud, we raised almost $2,000.00 for the family of my son's friend who is battling cancer. This money helps with incidental expenses of hospital parking, gas, tolls and food. Jared and I were able to use our gig at Crossroads in Garwood NJ as a fundraiser and I can honestly say that there is no accomplishment that I am prouder of.
I played in NYC, Knoxville TN, Burlington VT, Utica NY and Toronto Canada and loved every minute of the tour.
While we were in Toronto, hurricane Irene hit the east coast and my home town in particular with a fury that we have never seen here. I was extremely fortunate and my house sustained minimal damage...but many of my neighbors and friends lost so much.
Perseverance - steady persistence in a course of action, a purpose, a state, etc., especially in spite of difficulties, obstacles, or discouragement. This is what gets a community through the most difficult of times and keeps an artist on their path of creativity.
Never give up!!!!!!!!!!!!
